Step 1: Meeting and departure

Step 2 (excluded): Basilica of Sanit Francesco
The tour starts in the Basilica of Saint Francesco, a place where it is possible to admire a fusion of art, faith and history rarely equaled. The Basilica houses the remains of the saint who marked a turning point in Christian history, a change so epochal that it justifies the artistic richness of this place; from Cimabue to Giotto, both the Upper and Lower Basilicas are decorated with priceless frescoes that, thanks to the guide's narration, can be enjoyed in every small detail.

Step 3: Piazza del Comune
Ascending through Assisi's medieval alleys you can admire the Piazza del Comune with the Temple of Minerva, a perfectly successful union between the city's most important Roman temple and the church of Santa Maria sopra Minerva.

Step 4: Basilica of Saint Chiara 
This Gothic-style church is one of the symbols of the city and owes its construction to the citizens of Assisi who decided to dedicate a church to Chiara of Assisi, the famous saint who followed in the footsteps of St. Francesco. The white and pink color of the subasio stones characterizes the splendid facade, which, especially at sunset, reflects the sunlight creating suggestive plays of light and shadow; a striking sight that gives peace and serenity to those who observe it.

Step 5: Cathedral of San Rufino 
Moving to the upper part of the city, we reach the Cathedral of Saint Rufino, which, thanks to its splendid facade, is one of the greatest examples of Umbrian Romanesque churches.
